SubTracking Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how wangyabo ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with SubTracking ("SubTracking" or the "App"). SubTracking is a local-first personal subscription tracker. The App does not require an account and does not send your subscription records to our servers. Optional Pro purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the SubTracking iOS app, its Home Screen widget, and related support communications. It does not apply to third-party services, websites, subscription providers you track, or Apple services that are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Information Processed by the App
SubTracking processes the following information locally on your device when you choose to enter or enable it:
- Subscription records you manually create: subscription name, icon or emoji, amount, currency, billing cycle, next renewal date, category, reminder preference, and creation date.
- Calculated app information: estimated monthly totals, renewal calendar entries, upcoming renewal lists, and chart data calculated from the subscription records you enter.
- Notification preferences: whether renewal reminders are enabled for individual subscriptions.
- Widget summary data: a limited on-device summary (such as estimated monthly spend, active subscription count, and next renewal details) shared between the App and the Home Screen widget through an Apple App Group container on your device.
- Purchase entitlement status: whether SubTracking Pro features are unlocked, based on Apple StoreKit transaction/entitlement information available on your device.
These records are stored on your device using Apple's local app storage technologies. We do not operate an account system for the current release.
3. Purchases and Apple StoreKit
If you purchase SubTracking Pro (auto-renewable subscription or lifetime unlock), payment is processed by Apple. We do not collect, store, or process your payment card number, Apple ID password, or full billing account details.
Apple may process purchase-related information under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. The App reads StoreKit entitlement information on your device to unlock Pro features such as unlimited tracked subscriptions, analytics charts, the Home Screen widget, and CSV export.
4. Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we may receive your email address, the content of your message, and any information you choose to include. We use this information only to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, and improve support.
Please avoid sending sensitive financial account details, passwords, payment card numbers, or other confidential information in support emails.
5. How Information Is Used
SubTracking uses information processed in the App to:
- Save and display your subscription list.
- Calculate estimated monthly subscription spending based on your entries.
- Show upcoming renewals, calendar views, and spending charts.
- Export a local CSV backup of your subscription list when you choose to share it through the system share sheet.
- Schedule optional local reminders before renewal dates.
- Power the optional Home Screen widget with a local spend summary.
- Determine free-tier limits and unlock Pro features after a valid purchase or restore.
- Let you edit, delete, and manage your subscription records.
Support emails are used to respond to support requests and maintain basic support records.
6. Information We Do Not Collect Through the App
In the current release, SubTracking does not:
- Require account registration or login.
- Connect to banks, cards, payment accounts, financial institutions, or subscription providers.
- Read emails, receipts, bank statements, transaction history, or billing history.
- Upload your subscription records to our servers.
- Collect location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, calendar, or HealthKit data.
- Use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking SDKs.
- Track you across apps or websites.
- Collect a remote push notification token for server-side messaging.
SubTracking's privacy manifest declares no tracking and no data collection by us through the App for analytics or advertising purposes.
7. Notifications
SubTracking may request permission to send notifications. Notifications are used only for local renewal reminders before subscription renewal dates.
If you deny or later disable notification permission, you can still use the App to manually track subscriptions and view renewal dates. Notification delivery depends on your device settings and iOS behavior.
8. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your locally stored subscription records with advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or financial institutions.
Purchase processing is handled by Apple. Widget summary data stays in an on-device App Group shared only between the SubTracking app and its widget extension.
We may disclose support communications if required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users, or the security of the App.
9. Third-Party Services
The current release relies on Apple platform services, including:
- Apple iOS local storage technologies for saving app data on your device.
- Apple App Groups for sharing a limited widget summary between the App and the Home Screen widget on the same device.
- Apple UserNotifications for optional local renewal reminders.
- Apple StoreKit / App Store for distribution, updates, in-app purchases, restore purchases, and subscription management.
- Apple WidgetKit for Home Screen widget display.
These services are provided by Apple and may be subject to Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
Subscription records remain on your device until you edit or delete them in the App, or delete the App from your device. Deleting the App may delete local app data, including widget summary data, subject to iOS behavior and any device backup settings you control.
Purchase records and subscription status associated with your Apple ID are retained by Apple according to Apple's policies. Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, maintain support history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
11. Your Choices
You can:
- Add, edit, or delete subscription records in the App.
- Turn renewal reminders on or off for individual subscriptions.
- Disable notification permission in iOS Settings.
- Add, remove, or configure the Home Screen widget in iOS.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable law. You may contact us to request assistance with those rights.
12. Data Security
We design SubTracking to keep subscription records on your device. However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure. You should protect your device with appropriate security settings, such as a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
13. Children's Privacy
SubTracking is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through support communications, please contact us.
14. Financial Disclaimer
SubTracking is a personal tracking tool. It is not a bank, financial institution, payment service, accounting service, or investment adviser.
All amounts and renewal dates are manually entered by you and are provided for personal reference only. You are responsible for checking actual charges, renewal dates, cancellation requirements, and billing terms with the relevant service providers.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, provide notice through the App or our website.
